Simon Babbage
Simon grew up and went to school in south London. Having started his career in construction commissioning bespoke joinery as a trained cabinet maker Simon has held close his passion for fine materials and high quality craftsmanship throughout his development into Babbage construction’s Director. Having initially built teams of joiners and finishers in response to a growing demand for his joinery, 10 years Later and following the successful completion of numerous projects of increasing scale and variety, Simon is now heading up a successful building contractor working with Engineers, architects and interior designers to produce domestic work of breathtaking quality.
Outside of work Simon is a family man with love of the natural world and the outdoors. And can be regularly found (or not) in a setting of considerable natural beauty with his friend and family enjoying a walk or a good meal. Simon has contributed as a voluntary leader in a number of churches over his years in London as a youth worker, worship leader and pastor. His commitment to his faith remains central to the core values of the company ensuring integrity, honesty and compassion are embodied as truly as possible within our business model and working practices.
Alex Fry
Having also grown up and been schooled in south London, Alex studied an honours degree in metalwork at Camberwell art college . Soon he was also running his own business undertaking domestic decorating and carpentry contracts with small teams. He was then hired by in the capacity of project manager by a joinery and window restoration company and now has a 10 year track record of construction management across a number of fields including high-end commercial, specialist & structural glazing and more recently a return to high end residential and basement excavation & fit-out.
Alex, sharing Simon’s passion for high quality finishes and workmanship Joined him at Babbage construction in 2012.
Alex likes nothing more than sharing a beer with friends or reading stories to his much loved children. Also a Christian, he is passionate about the value of family life and investing in relationships. He, his Wife and kids are currently exploring a new expression of this with a number of other families in a community based project in southwest London. He also loves to snowboard, & play sport of any description (again when possible?) .
